Hi there, I was wondering if you could please give me a quick fix for using a square blog post featured image.
I know I can do vertical and horizontal images.
However, when I upload a square photo it automatically shapes it to a horizontal rectangle.
Do you mean using a square featured image on a posts list page (e.g. here), or on a single post page (e.g. here)?
As for the update, Narrator 1.2 that has been released on Jan 19 introduces support for WordPress 5 and the Gutenberg block editor. If you haven’t made any custom code modifications directly to the theme, I recommend updating. You existing content will stay intact.
Hi Paul, the square picture question is about using a square featured image on the posts list page/homepage post list (underneath the featured blog post). I can only post vertical and horizontal pictures and would like know is there a way I could post a square option too if possible.
You can achieve that by doing the following: please go to the Theme Options, set ‘Blog page layout’ to ‘Masonry’, and click ‘Update’.
Then, add square featured images to your posts, and they will be displayed as squares on list pages such as the blog homepage.
Also, if you want to prevent the square featured images to be cut on single post pages, it’s a good idea to provide separate featured images for post lists (square), and for single posts (horizontal). The latter can obviously be a differently cut version of the former. Please see section “8. Separate featured images for post lists” of the User Guide.
