When I embedd a video (in this case I’m doing one from Vimeo) into a post, I have no control over the size of the video. I’ve tried several ways to change the size including changing the width and height in the embedd code, using CSS, adding PHP to the theme functions page. Nothing has worked for me.
How can I control the size of videos that I embedd in my posts? I want to make them smaller, about the same size as the ‘large’ option for images but not as big as the feature image which is how they appear now.
I see what you mean. And I will be happy to help you with that. However, there’s one thing I don’t get. You are saying that now your embedded videos are as big as the featured images. But they shouldn’t be. They should actually be as wide as the text column (and the height should be calculated based on the aspect ratio). See the videos embedded here: Responsive Video Embeds
Can you please post a link to the page where you’re seeing your videos as big as the featured image?
Also, how do you actually place your videos on the page? Do you use the
<iframe> tag, a plugin, or do you just paste the URLs of the videos into the content field (that’s what I do to achieve what you see in the link above).
Thanks for the quick response. The example you showed me where the video embedds are as wide as the text column is what I want them to be! But for some odd reason mine are the size of the feature image. You can see this here http://www.doomiswanderlust.com/responsive-video-embeds/
I’ve tried using <iframe> embed tags and simply pasting the link, both with the same result.
