I have set up my front page gallery using the demo set up and selected autoplay with a three second display per image but when I go to the front page whether logged in or out the gallery does not autoplay. I can still manually advance through the images but I can’t seem to get autoplay working. Any thoughts?

So on further checking it is working on Microsoft Edge, but not on Chrome or Firefox. I have disabled all blockers on both and it still will not work. I have also cleared the cache on both but no change.

1. When you use Chrome or Firefox, do you see the front page gallery auto-playing on bild.mauer.co.
2. I guess this may be a caching issue. Can you please clear your browser cache (of all the browsers you experience this issue in), and see if the issue persists?

Hi Paul. I cleared the cache fully on both Chrome and FF and still the same result with both my site and the bild.mauer.co site. I also downloaded a bunch of other web browsers to test it on and so far it doesn’t work on Opera, Maxthon, Seamonkey, Sleipnir or Internet Explorer. The only other one that it works on so far is Vivaldi. Seems like its more than a cache issue.October 30, 2018 at 9:51 pm #2953
As a follow up to this I also noticed that on those browsers that play the slideshow the small arrows on each side of the image are visible whereas on those browsers that don’t play it they do not appear.November 4, 2018 at 8:07 pm #2984
And as a follow up to that follow up its now working fine on Chrome. I downloaded Chrome beta and tried it there and it worked fine and as well as deleting the cache I also restarted the computer. I’ve no idea why this worked but its running fine on everything now except FF.
Thanks.November 7, 2018 at 3:51 pm #2997
I do not seem to be able to reproduce this behavior in Firefox. Here is a screencast (5 MB GIF, wait for it to load) of how the gallery autoplay works for me in Firefox:
And it works the same for me on ollithomsonphotography.com.
The only occasion when it’s not autoplaying is when the focus is taken from FF (when it’s not the currently active program and is in the background).
So if you are still experiencing this, please know that this is not ubiquitous for your users. In fact, I suspect, they don’t experience it at all, and this is somehow dealt with your particular setup.

Thanks. I assumed that was the case since it now seems to be working everywhere else.November 19, 2018 at 7:51 pm #3022
Good to know that. Cheers.
