Love the Bild theme! Just what I’ve been looking for. But I’m having issues getting things set up:

First of all, I’m not getting images when I go to “Archived Galleries” (renamed “Gallery Archive”) even though I’ve created two galleries. I see the rollover title, but no image. Same thing with “Portfolio Archive” (renamed “What’s Blooming”).

Secondly — what are Smart Native Galleries? I think my galleries are working fine. Ok to remove “Smart Native Galleries” from the menu or is something not working?

I’m working on 2 issues that could causing problems:

One, I’ve been unable to install Jetpack because of a missing XML extension. My Web host is working on this. Could this be causing my problems?

Two, I installed version 5.5.3 of ACF Pro that came with the build theme. I see there is an update to 5.5.14. Should I install? Could this help or hurt?

    Thanks for your help.
Right now, the url is picturesovertime.com/wp (Web host working on fixing this, too!).

    Thanks!
    Carolyn

    Hello Carolyn,

    1.
The images in Gallery and Portfolio archives. Please make sure you specify a featured image for each Gallery / Project. See screenshot:

    2.
Native Galleries are the default galleries that you create with WordPress (like that).
And they are called smart because this theme automatically stacks them up in collages and adds a lightbox — as explained here

If you mean the ‘Smart Native Galleries’ page that came with the demo content, sure you can delete it as all the other demo pages that you don’t need.

    3.
This theme does not require any special steps to install Jetpack and does not interfere with Jetpack installation in any way. Basically, you should be able to install Jetpack by going to ‘Plugins’ > ‘Add New’ in your Admin Panel.

    4.
I update the version of ACF PRO bundled with the theme with every theme update.

You can not update the ACF Pro plugin on your own because its license does not allow that — if you got a copy of the plugin as part of a theme. You’d need to directly buy a license for ACF PRO to be able to update it, however the changes in the latest version of the ACF PRO are really minor and don’t affect the performance of the theme in any way. So I would not say it’s worth the hassle.

Thank you for having chosen Bild for your project.

    Regards,
    Paul

    You are welcome, Carolyn!

If you enjoy the theme (or the support), I kindly ask you to rate it on ThemeForest. This only takes a moment and really helps a lot. Thank you.

    Regards,
    Paul
