Hi. There are three sites I wish were in the drop-down that adds social mdia link icons to the footer:
With Bild being such a photography-centric theme, these would all be very appropriate. 500px and Ello are both longstanding social media networking sites. 500px is specifically for photographers while Ello is for artists in general (photograpahers included).
Blurb is a leading photography book self-publishing system/site that has also been around forever. It would be great to have a little Blurb icon in the footer to link right to the page where my books are for sale.
Thanks for giving this your consideration. Best, Joe
So, yeah for the second time in a row I think I’m answering my own question after reading the documentation (such a noob…). Am I correct that the footer icons are handled by the Jetpack plugin and you wouldn’t be able to add additional sites to the list even if you wanted to? And that I should take this up with Jetpack’s developers? Let me know and I’ll do just that. Thanks, Joe
It appears I was wrong about being wrong. Closer reaqding reveals that Jetpack only handles social media share links, not the footer link icons. So please consider adding 500px, Ello, and Blurb to that pull-down menu as they are all highly photography-relevant. While you’re at it you could remove Delicious, Vine, Google+, and StumbleUpon as those sites/services are all dead.
Also, I like the way that those footer icons light up red and I wish my upper-left corner site icon could do the same. Would you consider adding an option to upload a rolledover logo image. That would be a very nice touch!
Thanks for giving these thing your consideration. I look forward to you response. -Joe
